چکیده
A measurement of the inclusive b-jet production cross section is presented in pp and p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 5.02$ TeV, using data collected with ALICE detector LHC. The jets were reconstructed central rapidity region $|\eta|<0.5$ from charged particles anti-$k_{\rm T}$ algorithm resolution parameter $R=0.4$. Identification b exploits long lifetime hadrons, properties secondary vertices impact distributions. $p_{\rm T}$-differential jets, as well corresponding fraction, are reported for jet transverse momentum range $10 \le p_{\text{T, ch jet}} 100$ GeV/$c$, together nuclear modification factor, $R_{\rm pPb}^{\text{b-jet}}$. analysis thus extends lower limit measurements factor found to be consistent unity, indicating that TeV not affected by cold matter effects within current precision. reproduced POWHEG NLO pQCD calculations PYTHIA fragmentation.

Charged particle production in Pb-Pb and p-Pb collisions at ALICE
Global event observables are of fundamental importance in characterizing the properties of the strongly interacting medium created in heavy-ion collisions. The ALICE experiment at LHC measured charged particle multiplicity distributions in Pb-Pb collisions at √ sNN = 2.76 TeV in a wide pseudo-rapidity range (−5 < η < 5.5) exploiting different techniques. The production of high transverse moment...
